Bridge House
A 2,300 SF three bedroom, 2 1/2 bathroom residence bridging a seasonal stream. The 10,000 SF site also features 14 oak trees. The resulting design solution responded to both the living requirements of the clients and the spirit of challenging planning ordinances, imposing minimal impact to the ecology of the site and stream.
By lifting the building, sunlight is able to penetrate to the stream bed below, permitting the rehabilitation of the stream bed while placing the living spaces directly under the tree canopy.
