City of Glendale Public Library System
The Glendale Libraries Project included the assessment of existing service areas, four branch buildings, system-wide service approach, and a 20-Year Plan. Population characteristics, school enrollments and performance, and usage data were considered. Compiled into a GIS database, the information was converted into a graphic format,
making it comprehensible to professionals and non-professionals. The review of branch buildings involved evaluation of their general condition including code compliance and the feasibility of renovation or expansion.
